Tears Of The Kingdom Fortified Pumpkin Guide

The Fortified Pumpkin is a very useful ingredient in Tears of the Kingdom. When used correctly in a dish, it can provide Link with a hefty defense boost. This buff is heavily recommended if you’re planning on taking out high-level enemies like a Silver Lynel. All in all, Fortified Pumpkins are well worth collecting. So, let’s get into where you find Fortified Pumpkins in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom: Where to find Fortified Pumpkins

Unlike some other ingredients, Fortified Pumpkins are actually very easy to find. The first batch you can get is located in the Kakriko Village General Store. Here you can buy three Fortified Pumpkins for 20 Rupees each. That isn’t a lot admittedly, but if you keep coming back when this store’s stock refreshes you can get quite a few. There’s also the Fortified Pumpkin patch in Kakariko Village, but Link is too nice to steal these without permission. So these will have to stay in the ground.

The other way to consistently get Fortified Pumpkins in Tears of the Kingdom requires combat. Red Hinox sometimes drops Fortified Pumpkins upon defeat. And since these types of Hinox are the easiest to beat, you should have no trouble taking them down. A Fortified Pumpkin is not guaranteed to drop with every Red Hinox you defeat. So make sure you save before battling one so you can try again if it doesn’t drop what you’re looking for. Check out our previous guide that shows off some useful Hinox farming locations.

The Fortified Pumpkin is one of Tears of the Kingdom’s most useful ingredients. And the fact that it’s so easy to get makes it so much better. Of course, it isn’t the only ingredient that can boost Link’s defense. The Ironshroom provides a similar bonus, and it can be found throughout Hyrule as well. Be sure to check out our guide on the best ways to get Ironshrooms in Tears of the Kingdom as well.
