Vampire Survivors’ latest free update, patch 1.5 (The Overwhelming One) is one of the game’s most generous additions to date. Not only does it bring a new challenge stage in the form of Astral Stair, a new random events system unlocked by the Trisection Relic, and a new character evolution for Yatta Cavallo via the Chaos Rosalia, but it also brings something else: a bizarre new pickup known as the Gold Finger. Of all the new additions this is easily the most obscure, so read on to learn how to get the Gold Finger in Vampire Survivors, and what you can do with it once you have it.

You can find the Gold Finger pickup in patch 1.5’s new challenge stage, Astral Stair. If you haven’t unlocked the stage yet, check out our guide linked above for details on how to do so. Once you’re in the stage, open up the in-game map, and you’ll be able to see the locations of each Gold Finger clearly marked. There are five Fingers in total, spread out across the smaller sections of the stage.

In order to access the Gold Fingers, you’ll need to make use of the teleport doors dotted around the stage. Once you grab one, you’ll become invincible and receive increased Charm (which causes more enemies to spawn) and a reduced Cooldown stat for a short amount of time. You’ll also activate a kind of combo system, wherein you receive rewards based on how many enemies you defeat while the Gold Finger is active. Below is a summary of these rewards, and how many enemies you need to defeat to earn them:

Reward Tier Kills Required Rewards Given
Bronze Finger 0 Healing Item and “Bouncy Weapon”
Silver Finger 500 + Player Level Coins, Healing Item, Little Clover, and a Random Pickup chosen from Gilded Clover, NFT, or Rosary
Golden Finger 1000 + Player Level x2 Coins, Floor Chicken, Treasure Chest (No Evolutions)
Demon Finger 1500 + Player Level x3 Coins, Treasure Chest (Evolutions Possible)
Cosmic Finger 2500 + Player Level x4 Coins, Treasure Chest (Evolutions Possible), and a Random Weapon (Can include Greatest Jubilee, Victory Sword, Torrona’s Box, Candybox, and Anima Weapons)

As you can see, the rewards offered by the Gold Fingers are substantial, particularly at higher tiers, so it’s well worth seeking them out in Astral Stair. For best results, you should do so in the later stages of your run, since you’ll be able to kill more enemies within the time limit, thus guaranteeing a high-level reward.

While Gold Finger is listed among the other pickups on the Collection screen, and the patch 1.5 notes confirm that it has a slim chance to appear in “most stages” once you’ve claimed the Trisection Relic, so far we’ve been unable to encounter it outside of Astral Stair, even after using the Seal powerup to limit light source drops, and using Greatest Jubilee to spawn more in.

There may well be an unrevealed trick to making it spawn elsewhere, or it may just be incredibly rare, but whatever the case is, you’re unlikely to be able to get the Gold Finger reliably in your runs for now. This may be intentional, given its potential for run-warping power spikes, and it means that you should consider your position very carefully before picking one up if you see one in the wild, in order to get the most out of it. In any case, now you know how to get the Gold Finger in Astral Stair in Vampire Survivors, which will make a challenging stage much more manageable.
