In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’re exploring a Hyrule that has fallen upon hard times. Its once proud structures now lie in ruins. The stones used to pave roads are crumbling, and bridges have washed out, but people still need to get around. Fortunately, you are available to help some of them, including a group of musicians near Dueling Peaks Stable. Here is our guide telling you how to cross the ruined Big Twin Bridge in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – how to cross the ruined Big Twin Bridge

To the south of Dueling Peaks Stable in the West Necluda region, you’ll find what’s left of the Big Twin Bridge. Frankly, there’s not much to see. A huge hunk of rock has crashed down on the wooden structure, splitting it in two. The Squabble River flows directly through it, and some Bokoblins have set up an enemy encampment on the shore’s far side. If you get near, their archers will hit you with elemental shots that deal lightning damage.

The bridge’s sorry state is a problem because it seems you need to escort the Stable Trotters across it. However, that’s not strictly true. To get the Fairy Trotters across the bridge to meet with the Great Fairy Cotera, you must build a raft. This will be important to know as you work out how to get the sound of a drum for the Great Fairy Cotera.

When you reach the appropriate point near the end of the Serenade to Cotera side adventure,  you learn you need to get the Stable Trotters across the river in their wagon. I have tried to help them cross by repairing the bridge with lumber, or by building a bridge of my own. However, the river is too wide and its current is too swift. I didn’t really get anywhere.

There does not appear to be a way to conveniently cross the ruined Big Twin Bridge. Instead, you need to go around it. You do so by building a small raft using lumber along the shoreline where the Stable Trotters have gathered. Nearby, in the water near the rocks, find some Fan pieces. Attach those to the back of your raft, and attach the wagon itself to the raft. There is also a Control Stick. My screenshot below shows me using a Sail, but that seemed to work against me. The Fan parts should be sufficient.

Once everything is in place, gently set the raft and its passengers in the water near the river’s edge. Then hop aboard and Control it to sail across the water to the far shore. When you reach the appropriate shore, right near the Great Fairy Cotera, the side adventure completes. Unfortunately, the bridge will simply have to remain broken for now.
